New President for Fujifilm Europe


Junji Okada

Junji Okada (53) has been appointed President of FUJIFILM Europe as of 1 April 2010. He is succeeding Shigehiro Nakajima who will take over a new position in the corporate head office in Tokyo. From his predecessor, Okada will take over all functions and responsibilities in Europe, including the role as President of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, Duesseldorf, Germany, and President of FUJIFILM Europe B.V. in Tilburg, the Netherlands.

Okada graduated from universities both in Japan and the United States and joined Fujifilm in 1979. He held several positions at the corporate head office in Tokyo, among them Manager of Corporate Planning and Corporate Finance Divisions and General Manager Investor Relations Division. His last assignment was Senior Vice President Corporate Division at FUJIFILM Europe with responsibility for all corporate functions throughout the region of Europe, including Human Relations, Corporate Finance, Planning, Logistics and Legal departments.

``We are on the way to further strengthen our organization in Europe and will develop the Fujifilm group further as a leading company in many sectors,´´ says Okada. ``While developing our strategic growth areas such as printing industry and medical systems, including life sciences, we are actively carrying on our imaging business. Doing so I want to contribute to continued business success in Europe.´´
