With immediate effect Adrian Clarke, the current SVP of Fujifilm Electronic Imaging Europe, will be taking over the role of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Photo Imaging, reporting to Nobuhisa Sekiguchi of Fujifilm Corporation in Tokyo and Junji Okada, the President of Fujifilm Europe. This new role will be in addition to his existing responsibilities in Europe and in Fujifilm UK.
Fujifilm’s bases in Europe are at Kleve for Electronic Imaging and Düsseldorf for Photo Imaging, so Adrian will be commuting between the UK, where he remains Director in charge of the UK’s digital camera business, and Germany, where Fujifilm’s European HQs are located. The European role means managing both Business Domains in approximately 30 countries, and includes responsibility for Fujifilm’s photofinishing laboratories in mainland Europe.
Adrian joined Fujifilm back in 1982 from Cambridge University and has worked in many of the different business domains within Fujifilm Corporation. Spanning a period of 28 years, Adrian has progressed his way up through the company, achieving an MBA from Cass Business School, London in 1990 along the way.
For the last three years Adrian has been overseeing Fujifilm’s digital camera business in Europe, and during that time has seen a 30% increase in overall volume, and strong share growth in key markets like Russia and Turkey.
Commenting on his additional responsibilities Adrian remarked: “This is an example of new thinking back in Japan: the Directors are determined to give local staff key jobs overseas. There’s a really good mix now of dedicated Europeans working alongside first-class Japanese. There’s also new thinking with regards to synergies between cameras and printing systems. The teams will be working much more closely together and we are determined to present one ‘photographic’ face to the market.”
