Fujifilm launches XMF Remote R7 with new user interface & iPad app

Fujifilm Europe today announces the latest version of its online job submission and soft proofing module, XMF Remote R7.  This new version features a completely new user interface which makes reviewing proofs online easier and quicker than ever before.

Many of the changes to the user interface are a direct result of feedback from customers and their clients about the first generation of XMF Remote.  As John Davies, business strategy manager, workflow, FUJIFILM Europe, explains: “For people who buy print, reviewing and approving jobs are just two of their many responsibilities, so we wanted to make the XMF Remote user experience even more intuitive. Print buyers want to view  proofs quickly, approve the job if all is OK, and move on to the next task, processes that are now much quicker thanks to XMF Remote R7’s new easy-to-use GUI. The new GUI further streamlines the whole print production process from job submission to print, supporting our customers’ needs to automate production as much as possible.”

Also new is the seamless integration that is now possible between XMF Remote and the print service provider’s website.  The web portal front-end to XMF Remote can now assume the full branding and corporate style of the print company, so rather than appearing as a separate site, the portal now looks like a fully integrated part of the printer’s website.

Another significant addition to XMF Remote R7 is support for the XMF Remote iPad app, available as a free download from Apple’s App store.  The availability of the app means that printers’ clients can choose to review proofs either via their web browser or by using the dedicated Apple iPad App. 

John Davies continues, “Often devices such as iPads are regarded as competitors to print, but in this case we are making full use of the mobile nature of the iPad to improve the speed of print production. The iPad provides the perfect platform for a product that is as interactive and visual as XMF Remote and, by extending our workflow suite to include a mobile app, we are allowing print buyers to instantly approve print jobs wherever they may be.”
