With its development of new technologies and solutions, Fujifilm is demonstrating its commitment to preserving and nurturing the culture of photography and to further expanding and developing the world of imaging.
With the ongoing development of digital technologies, the world of imaging has undergone a major transformation. Users are now able to enjoy 3D images, share images over social networking sites, and process images on their personal computers. With both still images and movies, the enjoyment of photo imaging has been expanded greatly thanks to digitalization.
Along with the progress of digitalization, print services have grown more and more diverse. In addition to existing digital prints, new value-added print services such as Photobook are enjoying widespread popularity. Accompanying this diversification of value-added print services, Fujifilm is developing numerous easy-to-use and convenient shop-based and online print ordering systems, as well as a wide range of high quality silver halide, inkjet and dye-sublimation products and solutions covering the entire print process. Through its efforts to preserve the culture of photography and create new added values, Fujifilm is leading the industry in expanding the world of imaging, and will continue to offer a wide range of new products and services.
Exhibition Concept
Fujifilm is pleased to showcase a full lineup of its leading products at Photokina 2010. Our main exhibits include a variety of digital cameras and printing solutions which are divided into the following five main areas: the FinePix REAL 3D System Area, the FinePix Digital Camera Area, the Printing Solutions Area, the Power of Photography Area and the Future Imaging Technology Area. With a focus on displays and demonstrations of our high quality products and services, the areas will also feature several Try & Touch corners that encourage visitors to try out the high quality products and services for themselves.
1. FinePix REAL 3D System Area
In 2009, Fujifilm launched the FinePix REAL 3D W1 — the world’s first camera able to capture 3D images, which pioneered a completely new approach to photography. This year, we are proud to present the FinePix REAL 3D W3 — a smaller, lighter camera that offers outstanding high definition images, and is fully compatible with ALL 3D TVs. The FinePix REAL 3D W3 provides a total solution for the 3D imaging world and further enhances the capturing, viewing and sharing of images. The camera’s generous 3.5” LCD monitor allows users to enjoy viewing still images or movies without the need for special 3D glasses. Visitors can also experience 3D prints from The FinePix REAL 3D W3 with our 3D Printer DPR-1, in the 3D print demonstration area.
2. FinePix Digital Camera Area
The FinePix Digital Camera Area is divided into three separate zones each displaying a range of Fujifilm’s latest digital cameras. Among the features on display are the high speed Auto Focus capability made possible with the integration of Fujinon long zoom and Super CCD EXR with Phase Detection technologies. Visitors can also try out a range of innovative functions featured in Fujifilm’s lineup of FinePix digital cameras including the Motion Panorama capability which is able to automatically create stunning 360-degree panoramic images, and the Photobook Assist function which simplifies production of Photobooks. Long Zoom & Panorama Experience
Fujifilm has further enhanced its product lineup with the development of an innovative super long zoom without compromising body size or image quality. Visitors are invited to “Touch & Try” the 2010 EISA award-winning FinePix HS10. The lens on the HS10 covers a focal range of 24mm –720mm and also features a Tripe Image Stabilization system.
Also available for visitors to try out for themselves is our brand new FinePix F300EXR equipped with a 15× optical zoom lens which offers an incredible 24mm – 360mm focal length, and boasts the world’s first “Phase Detection pixel built-in CCD” capability enabling an Auto Focus speed of only 0.158 seconds. Apart from the huge zoom range on offer, visitors can also experience Fujifilm’s powerful Image Stabilization System which combines superbly with long zoom photography, and Fujifilm’s new and unique Motion Panorama 360 Mode which further increases shooting options by cleverly producing stunning 360° panorama shots, effortlessly and automatically.
New Digital Cameras at Touch & Try
The “Touch & Try” corner features an exciting lineup of FinePix digital cameras and technologies where visitors can try out our lineup of new cameras and technologies for themselves. Touch & Try models include the sleek FinePix F300EXR featuring the world’s first “Phase Detection pixel built-in CCD”, which realizes an Auto Focus speed of 0.158 seconds — as fast as the human eye blinks. In addition, the F300EXR is equipped with a Fujinon 15× optical zoom lens offering an incredible 24mm – 360mm focal range.
Like the F300EXR, the FinePix Z800EXR is also equipped with the “Phase Detection pixel built-in CCD.” The large and intuitive 3.5” LCD realizes Dual Direction GUI and Dual Image Display allowing users to operate the Z800EXR’s functions smoothly and easily.
The FinePix S2800HD is equipped with a powerful 18× Fujinon wide-angle optical zoom lens that produces crisp, high-resolution images throughout the focal range, from 28mm wide-angle to an astounding 504mm telephoto.
Despite its sleek appearance, the FinePix Z80 packs an impressive 14-megapixel CCD for high-resolution images and a Fujinon 5× optical zoom into its compact body. The Z80 also supports users after shooting with the YouTube/Facebook Easy Web Upload capability and the new Motion Panorama Mode.
The FinePix JX280 is a 14-megapixel camera offering a high precision Fujinon 5× optical zoom lens, which covers an angle range from 28mm wide angle to 140mm telephoto.
Super CCD EXR
Fujifilm is delighted to announce the release of the world’s first phase detection pixel built in image sensor (Super CCD EXR), which realizes a high speed Auto Focus —
2–3 times faster than conventional digital cameras. Both the FinePix F300EXR and the FinePix F800EXR are equipped with the Super CCD EXR image sensor, which realizes further enhanced light sensitivity with lower noise as well as a wider dynamic range.
3. Printing Solutions Area
This area features displays and demonstrations of Fujifilm’s diverse array of in-store and online printing solutions that offer users new ways to satisfy their increasingly sophisticated imaging requirements. With a focus on the popular Photobook, the area also includes a wide range of high quality print-related products and services which incorporate a variety of printing systems — from silver halide through to inkjet and dye sublimation printing, this area features a wide variety of products only possible with Fujifilm. Among the exhibits are digital minilabs, order terminals and several other products that are all able to respond to any kind of printing requirement. Digital Minilab Frontier LP5700R and LP5500R
This year’s lineup of Digital Minilab Frontiers features the LP5700R, which offers higher productivity than the LP5500R. Both models comprise an extremely compact footprint of only 1.2 m2, are equipped with a high output function of up to 2,040 sheets per hour, and an ultra high-speed processing technology enabling dry-to-dry processing in only 82 seconds. The LP5700R and the LP5500R models also respond to diversifying customer needs with easy operations and a 12-inch print capability.
Dry Minilab Frontier DL600
In response to the growing demand from small and medium sized photo shops for dry printing equipment, Fujifilm is proud to release the inkjet-format Dry Minilab Frontier DL600 as the latest addition to its Dry Minilab series. The DL600 is equipped with an ink head developed exclusively to handle five different-colored inks and Fujifilm’s proprietary image processing technology Image Intelligence to realize high quality prints. The DL600 is also able to handle paper sizes of up to 12 inches in response to diversifying customer demands.
On-site Photobook Solution
The On-site Photobook Solution integrates the compact, double-sided, color printer, the Xerox Phaser 6280* (1), and the latest version of Fujifilm’s digital image processing technology, Image Intelligence Version 4.0(2), as a Photobook solution for photo retailers. Recently, photo shops and retailers have been demanding an on-site, low-cost printing solution with easy operability, and Fujifilm aims to satisfy these demands by offering a high quality print system that combines a compact, low-cost, xerographic printer with enhanced vivid color and smooth tone reproduction, with Image Intelligence Version 4.0 optimized for Xerography printers.

Running a range of real customer photo applications, Xerox will show the following technology at Photokina as a co-exhibitor of Fujifilm.
Xerox Color 1000 Press — This recently announced production color printer that prints at 100 pages per minute can produce high definition image quality on a wide range of paper stock. An optional clear dry ink station, a feature exclusive to these devices within the Xerox color portfolio, amplifies full-color jobs. This clear, dry ink allows for images and text to be highlighted for visual impact, or digital watermarks applied for artistic effect or security.
Xerox 700 Digital Color Press — Printing at 70 pages per minute in color or black and white, and providing an affordable way to start building or expanding a digital printing business, especially for in-plant operations, quick printers, commercial printers, creative agencies, photo specialty retailers and departmental environments. The system has the image quality and productivity of a high-end production press and is ideal for Photobooks, calendars and postcards.
4. Power of Photography Area
Fujifilm will use this area to demonstrate its efforts to preserve the culture of photography and invite visitors to witness for themselves the exceptional quality of silver halide products such as high quality photographic film, QuickSnap and instant photo systems. Fujicolor Crystal Archive Album High Definition Paper
Fujicolor Crystal Archive Album High Definition Paper is the first glossy photo album paper in the world based on silver halide technology, and has been developed to serve the requirements of customers who demand high quality Photobooks. The paper incorporates high definition technology — which delivers enhanced color reproduction, white purity and excellent image stability with a smooth high glossy finish — with a specific protective layer resulting in outstanding fingerprint sensitivity.
GF670W Professional Medium-format Wide-angle Camera
The GF670W is Fujifilm’s latest medium-format camera aimed at professionals and advanced amateur photographers. This wide-angle camera is equipped with the Fujinon EBC lens that features 6 × 6 and 6 × 7 dual-format shooting for use with 120 and 220 roll film.
5. Future Imaging Technology Area
With the increasing diversification of printing services such as Photobook, Fujifilm is focusing on the future and stepping up its efforts to satisfy customer needs with the development of new print ordering systems and imaging technologies. The Future Imaging Technology Area features demonstrations and explanations of our high quality, easy-order services, all of which are equipped with Fujifilm’s outstanding imaging technologies. Image Organization Technology
Fujifilm’s newly-developed Image Organization Technology makes the organization of digital images easier and more convenient with its combination of the “Image Selection Support Function” to simplify complex selection operations, and the “Automatic Layout Function” which makes laborious layout processes for Photobook easier and more efficient. With the increased memory capacities in memory cards and personal computer hard drives in recent years, many users have found themselves with large amounts of digital images which have yet to be sorted or categorized for easy selection. Now, however, the Image Organization Technology automatically sorts and categorizes images, and minimizes tiresome manual selection of images.
New Device (iPad and Android) Solution
Fujifilm will hold a special exhibition of its new online photo service applications, which have been developed to respond to online photo orders from the recently released and extremely popular iPad and mobile devices equipped with the Android operating system. These new applications offer a diverse range of photo editing functions with easy operability, and users of iPad and Android will be able to enjoy a wide variety of photo services anytime, anywhere.

Image Intelligence Version 4.0
Fujifilm’s existing Image Intelligence technology has earned high acclaim for its excellent color reproduction. In addition to this color reproduction capability, Image Intelligence Version 4.0 is able to faithfully reproduce the finest textures and details of the subject being photographed, from the subtle contours contained in the exterior of buildings and geological features to the transparency of a single drop of water and even the brilliant shimmering of a wedding dress. The integration of Image Intelligence Version 4.0 with xerographic systems greatly enhances the facility to capture the true essence of images as the photographer seeks to capture them, and provides a valuable addition to Fujifilm’s ability to create systems that enable value-added products such as the popular Photobook.
