Fuji’s Intelligent Digital Zoom technology offers a doubling of the optical zoom magnification to 60x – that’s the equivalent to a 1440mm lens on a full-frame digital camera.

To preserve image quality, the HS30EXR’s Intelligent Digital Zoom minimises noise and sharpens pictures by enhancing edge contrast, even at supertelephoto magnifications. EXR AUTO scene recognition also helps pick the right shooting settings for those times when you are shooting at such high magnifications, ensuring great results with minimal effort.

Fujinon lens

11-group / 15-element configuration

The HS30EXR’s high quality 30x zoom lens comprises 15 glass elements in 11 groups, including three aspherical and one extra-low dispersive (ED) elements. All of the elements have been treated with Fuji’s Super EBC (Electron Beam Coating) to reduce ghosting, fringing and flare.

The result is outstanding resolution with very low levels of distortion. Images have superb clarity and colour fidelity at all zoom settings.

ED lens - tackling colour fringing

Extra-low dispersive (ED) glass is used for its ability to reduce chromatic aberrations – otherwise known as coloured fringing. The HS30EXR uses a single ED glass element in its 30x optical zoom to deliver superb images throughout the zoom range.

Super EBC - aiming for high quality images

All of the HS30EXR’s lens elements have been treated with Fujifilm’s multilayer Super EBC, which reduces ghosting and flare in difficult lighting conditions. It’s the same technology used in Fujinon broadcast video and large-format camera lenses.

Image Stabilisation (CMOS Shift + High ISO)

The FinePix HS30EXR’s CMOS-shift image stabilisation technology ensures that your images stay pin sharp – even at long zoom settings and in low-light conditions.

Camera shake blurs images when the camera moves or vibrates when the shutter is still open. This happens in dim light, when the shutter needs to stay open for longer periods, and the effect is exacerbated by telephoto zoom settings, which magnify the movement.

The HS30EXR combats camera shake by detecting any movement and then moving the camera’s sensor by a small amount to compensate. The HS30EXR can also automatically raise the ISO sensitivity of the camera to shorten shutter speeds and minimise the risk of camera shake in the first place.

Advanced Anti Blur

In EXR AUTO mode, Advanced Anti Blur delivers sharp, blur-free images with low noise, even at telephoto zoom settings. Using multi-frame technology, four consecutive frames shot at high speed can be layered into a single image file.

Clear, high-resolution electronic viewfinder

Compose images on the HS30EXR’s three-inch viewscreen, or use its bright 920,000-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) for an expanded viewing angle of 22° and easier viewing in bright sunlight.

EVF eye sensor

The camera is equipped with an eye sensor that switches between viewscreen and EVF automatically as you raise it to your eye.

Electronic horizon leveling gauge

A built-in electronic spirit level makes it easy to keep your camera level – no more sloping horizons in those landscape shots.
