Fujifilm Europe’s commitment through the Coronavirus pandemic

With the collective goal of enhancing society through innovation, the Fujifilm family in Europe is committed to leveraging its resources, talent and technologies to support global efforts to counter the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our sincere gratitude and respect go out to all the healthcare professionals that are working to save lives and aid in the prevention of COVID-19. To help improve patient outcomes throughout the care spectrum, Fujifilm appreciates clinicians that are on the front lines treating patients on a daily basis. As a company with total healthcare capabilities in Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment, we are committed to supporting the brave clinicians caring for COVID-19 patients with our technologies.

During this time, our number one priority remains the health and safety of our 4,500 strong European workforce, our customers and the broader community. In response to the pandemic, we’ve adapted our business practices in order to safeguard our staff, as well as continue to serve our customers, many of which are powering critical operations in the fields of healthcare, technology and media.

Ensuring business continuity
  • implementing Business Continuity plans across all nations
  • developing Business Recovery plans across all nations
  • working from home where possible – with 80% of our workforce now working from home
  • proper hygiene protocols across all of our sites – and when off site
  • adopting any new international and national travel restrictions
  • prohibiting the attendance and participation in trade shows and events
  • directing employees who display any of the Coronavirus symptoms to report this to us and follow any recommendations by qualified healthcare professionals
Reducing the impact on our supply chains

The entire global supply chain has been impacted due to the Coronavirus outbreak, which has led to large-scale disruption in both manufacturing and shipping. Contingency plans are in place for both production and logistics. We are taking active measures to limit this impact and we are in daily contact with our logistics partners. However, considering Fujifilm’s diversified business portfolio, the supply chain impact will vary on a business-by-business basis.

Supporting Europe’s healthcare crisis

Fujifilm’s transformation, from producer of analogue photo film to a diversified company with a focus in the healthcare sector, enables the company to support the health of people around the world. Our Medical Systems business exists to serve doctors and patients and to help save lives during this pandemic. In this context, we are doing our very best to keep delivery, installations and service as steady as possible.

Fujifilm is committed to keeping you updated about developments comprehensively. However, most of all, as a company, our Management and employees want customers, partners and colleagues to stay safe and healthy. We appreciate you may have many more questions regarding Fujifilm’s local approach in your country, if you do so, please visit your local country page via our portal.

A message from Masato Yamamoto, President FUJIFILM Europe GmbH

A message from Masato “Mark” Yamamoto, President and Managing Director of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, to Europe’s healthcare community:

Fujifilm Europe is closely monitoring and responding to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic to minimize its impact on our workforce, products and supply chain. Our number one priority is the safety of our employees, customers and the broader community. At the same time, many Fujifilm Group companies have an important role to play in working to support Europe’s healthcare community, our doctors, our nurses, our hospitals, our medical institutions and our governments, to overcome this healthcare crisis.

The Coronavirus continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and while the impact varies greatly on a country-by-country basis – it has fundamentally changed life for all of us, as well as all of you, and particularly your loved ones. It has launched an assault on all of our lives, and you are the ones at the forefront, leading the fightback.

For Fujifilm, our diagnostic instruments and utilities, be that an X-ray mobile or point of care device, or potential pharmaceutical solution that we seek to evaluate, have a particular part to play on the Coronavirus care pathway.

Our technologies and efforts at this time are focused on working alongside you, to support you, on being there where we can, to do whatever we can to help you in your efforts to save lives.

Together with our technologies, we also have our people alongside you. We have Applications Specialists and Service Engineers in the field, going through this crisis, also often at the front line, to support you. They are there to not only work with you but also to help save you time, in a moment when every second counts.

So, thank you. Today you are making a super-human effort. Thank you for your individual dedication, collective contribution and your service. We are forever grateful.

Masato Yamamoto, President and Managing Director of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH
