- the prestigious international design award in recognition of outstanding performance and high-quality screen design that contributes to reducing the burden of pharmacists' audit work*
FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is proud to announce that its Medication Verification System “PROOFIT 1D (one dose)” has won the “Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2019” in a category of the “Red Dot Design Award” organized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen based in Essen, Germany. This award follows the “Red Dot Award” of Product Design category in March this year for 24 Fujifilm products, including the ultra-short throw projector “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR Z5000” and the portable X-ray unit “CALNEO Xair”.
When prescribing pharmaceuticals at dispensing pharmacies in Japan, there is a growing need to pack tablets and capsules into a single dose according to the timing of taking medicine. By applying advanced optical designing and image-recognition technologies, the PROOFIT 1D automatically determines the names and quantities of tablets and capsules in each package by accurately reading stamps and letters of tablets, and the colors and forms of capsules. The PROOFIT 1D shows the thumbnail images of tablets and capsules in each package on a monitor and highlight tablet stamps, thereby strongly supporting the auditing work of pharmacists. The award recognizes its excellent performance that supports pharmacists to reduce their burden and contributes to improve the accuracy of their auditing work, as well as its high-quality screen design.
