FUJIFILM acquires large project with “Entreprise nationale de television - EPTV Group”

19.05.2016

Algerian State Broadcaster EPTV (ENTV) recently placed a substantial order for Fujinon’s High Definition HA18x5.5BERM (5.5-200mm) “2 in 1” ENG lens solution. A total of sixty-two (62) HA18x5.5 will be paired with Sony PDW-680s and PXW-400s ENG cameras which are to be assigned to EPTV’s regional studios. The EPTV (ENTV) Group was founded in 1956 and consists of following channels; Canal Algérie, Algérie 3, Algérie 4, Algérie 5.

The acceptance test recently took place at Sony’s Tilburg (Netherlands) logistical facility.  EPTV representatives – Mr. Jamel Kherouia (Technical Project Manager), Mrs. Zineb Amrani (Technical Project Specialist),  Mr. Djamel Djadi (Fujifilm – Regional Sales Manager), Mr. Eddy Meijer (EMEA Sales Manager) and Sony’s Mr. Laurent Burel  supervised the on-site testing routine which had been more than satisfactory.

Mr. Jamel Kherouia (Technical Project Manager) at EPTV comments: “We selected Fujinon lens technology for this recent project, because we were impressed with the optical performance of the HA18x5.5BERM lens. Another big factor was the dual usage capability of this specific lens model as the HA18x5.5 has a  flexible focal range from 5.5 – 200mm, which covers most scenarios in ENG productions. A nice side effect is that we have been able to save cost as we no longer require two individual lenses (Wide-angle & Telephoto) as this lens combines both worlds. Our camera operators will also appreciate not having to carry two separate lenses when they are on assignment out in the field”

As a three-time recipient of the prestigious “Emmy Award” for outstanding technological developments, the “IF Design Award” and “Red Dot Design Award”- Fujinon broadcast & cine lenses have repeatedly set the benchmark in the evolution of optical technology.
