Co-creation of new values with business partners
Today FUJIFILM Europe unveiled its all-new Open Innovation Hub, located at its manufacturing and R&D centre in Tilburg, the Netherlands. In this hub Fujifilm will invite business partners to discuss innovative technologies and to find opportunities for solving technological challenges together. The new facility will join the two existing Open Innovation Hubs of Fujifilm in the USA and Japan.
These Open Innovation Hubs are designed to allow business partners to become familiar with Fujifilm’s core technologies and applications, with the aim to create a base together for collaboration opportunities and future co-creation. With the fundamental technologies, which are represented at the European Open Innovation Hub, Fujifilm developed a wide diversity of products for various markets. The markets represented in the Open Innovation Hub Europe include health & care, energy & environment and industry & solutions, all areas where Fujifilm is one of the leaders in technological innovation.
“Our mission at Fujifilm is to reach out to the innovation community and then work together on solving technological problems and bring new values to society ,” says Takaaki Kurose, President of FUJIFILM Europe. “This new facility expands Fujifilm’s presence in Europe and underlines our commitment for the region in which we are doing business since 50 years.”
In decades of research and development for photographic film, Fujifilm has developed many unique and proprietary technologies founded in core competencies in high precision coating, nano-dispersion, grain formation, and functional polymers. Fujifilm applied these technologies to non-photographic fields and nowadays the company’s activities extend over a much wider area, allowing for diversification into new markets. These include medical and pharmaceutical applications, highly functional materials for semiconductors, photovoltaic, water treatment and gas separation applications.
The new Open Innovation Hub Europe enables customers and new business partners to engage in collaborative dialog with Fujifilm’s leading technologists, and to discover the depth and breadth of a global technology portfolio. Partners will directly interface with Fujifilm’s global innovators through a series of interaction tools which have been designed to facilitate rapid technology understanding and co-ideation which can accelerate and solve their technological challenges. The ideation process at the OI-Hub will inspire visitors to engage with Fujifilm’s technical advances and other business innovators from around the world.
