FUJIFILM Europe GmbH the world leader in digital x-ray with more than 61,800 systems shipped, is pleased to show a groundbreaking flat panel DR system, the FDR AcSelerate* at the European congress of Radiology (ECR) which is held from 6 to 10 March in Vienna, Austria. This sophisticated DR system will revolutionize the capabilities of flat panel detectors using amorphous selenium direct image capture technology to produce general radiographic images of exceptional quality.
The FDR AcSelerate represents the next generation of Fujifilm’s 28 years of experience in digital x-ray capture technology featuring a direct detector for general radiography applications. By increasing the thickness of the amorphous selenium layer, the FDR AcSelerate detector provides higher sensitivity and better conversion efficiency with a DQE (detective quantum efficiency) increase of 20%, and is thus giving clinicians the potential for dose reduction and presenting image quality that is unprecedented among current general radiographic systems.
``Fujifilm has taken our 28 years of experience optimizing images for display, combined it with our dedication to technology evolution, and found the best way possible to deliver a DR technology so clinicians can benefit from the highest quality images,´´ says Tsuneo Sakai, Senior Vice President Medical Systems of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH. ``Fujifilm has created the superior FDR AcSelerate system by revolutionizing an existing technology that takes the capabilities of flat panel detectors to the next level.´´
The x-ray component of the FDR AcSelerate is a fully automated table and upright system with a lightweight ergonomic design that takes much less effort to use, position and operate than traditional systems. With just the touch of a button, technologists at high volume facilities will benefit from the enhanced productivity and flexibility of the FDR AcSelerate. The system performs nearly any general radiology exam using fully automated features, thus avoiding physical stress and repetitive injury to technologists. The availability of the FDR AcSelerate in Europe is anticipated for autumn 2009.
