At the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) which is held from 1 to 5 March in Vienna, Austria, FUJIFILM Europe presents the latest additions to its growing line of portable digital x-ray systems. Joining the widely popular and extremely versatile FCR Go 2 and the FDR Go flex which will all be on display to demonstrate the company’s ability to offer a variety of innovative mobile solutions (both CR and DR based). The new products are designed to bring digital x-ray exams to the patient and meet the varying needs of clinicians and facilities across Europe.
Each new FDR portable system includes Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS), Fujifilm’s patented advanced detector technology. ISS technology improves detective quantum efficiency (DQE) by reducing the distance for light signals to reach the sensor. This unique innovation achieves significant dose efficiency improvements compared to similar DR detectors. It also reduces scatter and blur of x-rays captured, resulting in sharper images with greater detail that enhances diagnostic confidence for the radiologist.
The FDR Go will be the company’s new DR portable digital x-ray system and the latest addition to its comprehensive and expanding FDR product line. This next generation portable system will offer the benefits of Fujifilm’s FCR Go 2 systems with the enhanced features of DR. New features of the FDR Go include:
- An updated new compact size capable of fitting in small areas.
- The ability to employ any FDR D-EVO detector. Currently available in 35x43 cm and 43x43 cm (GOS) and 35x43 cm (CsI).
- The FDR Go is designed for image preview in as fast as 2 seconds. Clinicians can then send images wirelessly to the hospital network without leaving the patient bedside.
- Several convenient features designed to simplify workflow including: automatically maps generator techniques, tube head inching and convenient spare battery charging.
FDR Go flex Portable System
Rounding out the new mobile options at ECR is Fujifilm’s most flexible DR to date; the easily transportable, wireless FDR Go flex. The FDR Go flex offers clinicians with the instant ability to turn nearly any analog portable system, analog x-ray room or remote location in to a DR imaging system. Technicians can simply drop the box into the cassette drawer, and position the notebook easily on top to begin capturing DR images. The lightweight, compact FDR Go flex consists of a wireless FDR D-EVO flat panel detector, a full featured laptop workstation and supporting mini components box.
This system features Fujifilm’s new x-ray detection feature, called Smart Switch. It simplifies the use in any room by eliminating the need to connect the detector’s processing system to the generator equipment’s exposure circuit. The detector gets ready when the examination is started and automatically senses exposure to capture images.
