Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare, with a range of constantly evolving, clinically proven, products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform efficiently and effectively. The company are pleased to announce that Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has purchased 10 of their state-of-the-art FCR Capsula systems.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust employs around 5,000 staff and serves a population of approximately 600,000 people living in Andover, Basingstoke, Eastleigh and Winchester as well as the surrounding towns and villages across Hampshire and parts of west Berkshire.
The Fujifilm Capsula machines have been installed across five sites of the Trust, including four at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, three at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, and one each at Andover War Memorial Hospital, Alton Community Hospital and Chase Hospital.
Bill Langley, Medical Imaging Manager for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said of the recent installation: “During the first half of 2013 a roll out of Fujifilm Capsula systems took place. These units replaced our much larger multi-cassette system and the benefits have been noticeable from day one, their small footprint allowed them to be discretely placed under work station in each room and a faster turnaround time means a higher throughput during busy periods and reduced waiting times for patients.”
The FCR Capsula can process up to 72 images per hour and has Fujfilm’s revolutionary vertical cassette loading method, so workspace is reduced compared to previous horizontal insertion models, with no compromise in speed or image quality.
