Berwick Infirmary Upgrade Dental Service

The radiology team at Berwick Infirmary offer a dental imaging service which, until recently, relied on an old CR reader located in the main x-ray department. Dental patients needed to wait until the cassette had been returned to the department and read before they were released, creating longer waiting times for patients and workflow delay for the team.
The installation of a NewTom GO 2D system has transformed the dental imaging service at Berwick Infirmary and significantly reduced patient dose. The GO 2D offers precision dental imaging in a user friendly, ergonomically designed device, which has made it a popular addition to the department. With features designed to ensure perfect patient positioning and stability, the GO 2D offers rapid acquisition of high quality images with a range of advanced software and diagnostic functions.
"We have been delighted with our new GO 2D since installation” said Ruth Kinghorn, Site Lead Radiographer at Northumbria NHS Trust. “It has increased our throughput of patients and made examinations quicker and easier for both staff and patients. It’s so quick and easy to use, we get images instantly and the image quality is far superior to our old CR system. We have also seen a reduction in dose of at least 50%.
