“The Great Outdoors” was the theme for a photography competition run by RJAH last year and sponsored by Fujifilm. Open to all those working in the Imaging Department, the competition proved very popular with 78 entries. Judging the pictures was undertaken by a panel of five including the Trust CEO Mark Brandreth and Eric Hughes, Diagnostics Divisional Manager.
“I was amazed at the quality of the images submitted, which have proved that it’s not just high quality radiographic images we can produce” said Eric Hughes. “This demonstrates how talented the Imaging staff are at RJAH.”
After the judges narrowed it down to three finalists the winner was announced at the staff Christmas party and was presented with a Fujifilm X30 digital camera. Louise Arnold, MRI/ CT Radiographer, was the lucky winner with her image of a summer landscape taken from a hot air balloon. “The early morning balloon ride was to celebrate an anniversary” said Louise. “I was so surprised to have won as the standard of entries for the competition was so high, and I’m delighted with my new Fujifilm camera”.
The runners up were Faye Merley, Radiographer, who photographed a snowscape, and Sophie Jones, Healthcare Assistant, whose picture features a spring woodland with bluebells.
