Kimberley Barrett (L) receiving her prize from Sharon Stewart, Subject Lead (R)
Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare, with a range of constantly evolving, clinically proven, products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform efficiently and effectively. The company recently sponsored the Glasgow Caledonian University (CGU) Final Year BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Imaging Prize.
Many of Scotland’s diagnostic radiographers graduate from GCU, equipped with the knowledge, competencies and attributes needed to practice in the modern health and social care services. Therefore it seemed fitting for Fujifilm to donate prizes for the students, including a camera for the 2014 Final Year Student Diagnostic Imaging prize.
Winner of the CGU 2014 Diagnostic Imaging Prize was Kimberley Barrett for ‘Best Clinical Performance’, who commented: “I am delighted and honoured to receive the award for Best Clinical Performance, and I would like to thank Fujifilm UK for their contribution in sponsoring the prizes. The staff at GCU are second to none, with an open door policy and an always willing to help attitude. They are a credit to GCU and I cannot thank them enough for their support and encouragement during my time at GCU. I have developed high quality skills whilst on clinical placement at Glasgow's Southern General Hospital, and the skills and knowledge I have learnt at GCU will enable me to go far in my career.”
Kimberley is now working as a Radiographer at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
