Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare, with a range of constantly evolving, clinically proven, products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform efficiently and effectively. The company have recently added the option of tomosynthesis to their FDR AcSelerate, and have a full colour datasheet available detailing the key features.
Fujifilm’s FDR AcSelerate with tomosynthesis option provides improved workflow with cost benefits. It can significantly lower the need for CT referral, as a standard 3-view examination may not reveal the source of a patient’s discomfort.
By comparison, tomosynthesis is an advanced radiography application that produces multiple tomographic slices from a single sweep of the X-ray tube. This provides added dimension of “depth” to the radiologist. Tomosynthesis can be effective for a variety of clinical tasks, from orthopaedic imaging to otology.
With a single tomosynthesis sweep, multiple tomographic slices are produced, allowing the radiologist to evaluate the slice of the body part at various depths to assist speedy location of the problem.
Using Fujifilm’s FPD which features a pixel pitch of just 150µm and ISS technology, the FDR AcSelerate achieves high quality tomosynthesis images for easier and more accurate diagnosis. It also incorporates Fujifilm’s Image Intelligence™ proprietary technology to provide high resolution, information-rich images.
