Final year Glasgow Caledonian University student Debbie Doolan from Greenock was recently presented with the Fujifilm Award for Best Research Performance. Debbie graduated with a first class honours degree in Diagnostic Imaging after four years study. Her research comprised a critical review comparing thoracic ultrasound to plain chest x-rays for the detection of pneumonia.
Debbie said “I'm so grateful and overwhelmed to be receiving the Fujifilm Award for Best Research Performance. I'm proud that all the hard work and effort I put into my research performance has paid off. Although it was stressful to complete I genuinely enjoyed writing it as my topic area was something I'm very passionate about. My university experience has been such an amazing journey and the programme has brought out a confidence in me that I never thought I'd have. I've recently taken up a position at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and everything is going really well.”
Adrian Waller, General Manager of Fujifilm Medical UK, said “This is the fifth year we’ve supported the GCU student award for Best Research Performance, and we’re delighted to continue to recognise excellence in new radiographers joining our industry. Congratulations to Debbie on her award and we wish her well in her career at Invercyde“.
