Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare, with a range of constantly evolving, clinically proven, products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform efficiently and effectively. The company have recently installed an Ascelerate Flex DR Room at Acre Mills, part of Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
Following a £9m refurbishment spanning two years, Acre Mills is a joint venture between Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and Pennine Property Partnerships that has transformed a former wire mill into a three-floor building fit to serve more than 100,000 patients per year. This included their new Ascelerate Flex DR Room from Fujifilm.
Commenting on the new installation, Matthew Hunneybell, General Team Lead at Acre Mills, said: "We wanted equipment that was going to provide high quality images with low radiation doses. After assessing the market we choose the Fujifilm FDR Ascelerate Flex system as it covered all the bases; a fixed erect detector combined with a wireless 35 x 43 cm detector for table and extremity use."
Matthew continued: "Also, as the new department was going to be remote from the main hospital we wanted a system that the radiographers were familiar with and found easy to use. With Fujifilm’s Ascelerate Flex DR Room the automatic position of the system makes the room very ergonomic for the radiographers by minimising tube handling. The interface is simple to use and very familiar for the radiographers as it uses the Console Advance software, which provides high quality images fast, whilst keeping the dose as low as possible.”
