Spire Hartswood in Essex wanted a dual radiology image processing solution for their busy X-ray department, which would meet a number of specific needs. Fujifilm’s solution was to install a Retrofit and D-EVO II DR detector in one room, and a Capsula XL CR Reader in the viewing area which is used for the second x-ray room and mobiles.
One of our main objectives was to reduce the risk of service interruption
said Magda Coetzee, Imaging Manager.
A dual solution would also reduce the waiting time for our patients as we can now examine and process two patients simultaneously. In addition, we wanted to offer a new Long View service that was portable and could be used in either room, and we also wanted improved imaged quality and reduced dose. Fujifilm were the only supplier I trusted to offer exactly what I needed.
The Fujifilm DR Retrofit has greatly increased our patient throughput as it takes and processes images far more efficiently, meaning less waiting time for patients, less down time on the equipment and we can image more patients in less time. This overall improvement in patient experience is very important to us. We have also found that the image quality is enhanced which provides better clinical outcomes for patients’ treatment pathways. In addition radiation exposure is substantially decreased with the Fujifilm DR by up to 40%.
Our team have found the Fujifilm systems to be operator friendly with first class applications specialist training, and prompt and reliable customer service. I have had previous experience of Fujifilm’s excellent equipment and service and I’m proud to have introduced the first Fujifim DR equipment into the Spire group.
